LOL, what will we do when we don't have smokers to kick around any more, eh?
I know we non-smokers can seem a bit over the top, but I really am not. I used to smoke but am very happy I quit and really don't like the lingering odor of smoke in hotel rooms. Sounds like you agree, though ...
One more thing on the adjoining or connecting door thing. I stayed at a hotel in Toronto some years ago and the noise coming through the door kept waking me up between 2 and 4 a.m. (when my neighbours presumably went to sleep). I was tired and wanted to sleep and kept hoping it would stop any minute, so didn't get up to phone and complain... When I spoke to the front desk the next morning they told me those people were checking out and if there was any more noise they would come and redo or reinforce the connecting door (can't remember exactly how they described it).
What would they have done? If the doors can obviously be better sound insulated, why don't they just do that in the first place...???? Or get rid of them, and offer suites to people who want more than one room....???
