I think that is back to my last point: I think that if AF's strategy was BA's strategy it might be enough to justify opening that (of course when you do, you start also adapting your marketing, so for instance offering competitive through fares for - e.g. - JFK-PVG, JFK-SIN, etc via Paris) and in that sense you create demand. But because AF's strategy is AF's strategy, probably not so!

By the way, just to say that this is not only about actual market but about strategy, it is worth noting that in addition to JFK, AA-BA offer similar daytime flights from a number of other US airports like ORD (AA's major hub) but also BOS which is not a hub for either airline. I seem to remember that some of US's hubs also offer a daytime Eastbound but I aren't sure.

And yes you're right about more early morning flights in the summer. As for MCT, I had it from the afkl.biz website but I see that the document is quite old so maybe it has changed? Not sure. In fact, I'm no even sure if the situation is already catered for or not as I believe that there is currently no AF connection similar to the JFK one at ORY (ie to international non-Schengen) or am I missing some? And as for waiting till the 8.30 arrivals, I'm sure AF can do without Aurillac but they probably do not wish to miss out on LYS?
