Interesting. I didn't know that. But will there be enough to justify running a daytime flight?
I agree that an early departure would be good for Paris based people but the question becomes again if that is enough to justify an 8.30am departure in and by itself. IIRC, dom-int MCT at ORY is 60 minutes not 45
Maybe you're right. I got my information from the "official" database:
STANDARD.D/D...D/I...I/D...I/I.
ONLINE .50 1.00 1.00 1.00
OFFLINE .50 1.00 1.00 1.00

AF-AF DI .45
**-** DI 1.15 TRM W - S
**-** DI 1.15 TRM S - W
**-** DI 1.15 TRM W - W
and the big connection arrival time at ORY is about 8.30-9 (only very few flights arrive before 8) so I think it would make a 10ish departure more likely than an 8.30ish.
Actually, most domestic destinations have a flight arriving into Paris by 8.30am. So with 45 minutes transfer time that would be a 9.15am departure. Here are the arrivals (this is the timetable for May 2016, i.e. during the summer when the new flight is supposed to be operating):
07h10 Bordeaux
07h20 Toulouse
07h25 Nice
07h30 Montpellier
07h35 Bastia
07h35 Ajaccio
07h40 Lorient
07h40 Clermont-Ferrand
07h40 Mulhouse
07h40 Marseille
07h50 Bordeaux
07h50 Lannion
07h55 Nice
08h00 Rodez
08h00 Brest
08h05 Quimper
08h05 Paul
08h10 Toulon
08h10 Agen
08h15 Biarritz
08h15 Toulouse
08h15 Castres
08h20 Brive-la-Gaillarde
08h20 Perpignan
08h20 Nantes
08h25 Lourdes/Tarbes
08h25 Nice
08h30 Marseille
08h30 Lyon
08h30 Aurillac
This is the complete set of domestic destinations served from ORY (with the exceptions of Calvi and Figari), all get in no later than 8.30am. So if AF really wanted to pick the pax flow from Aurillac then they could schedule 9.15am. Picking up all domestic feeders and still very convenient for Paris-orginating pax. But let's see if AF thinks that way. Probably not
And yes, you are absolutely right that connecting at ORY is easier in terms of distance, but it is not necessarily as convenient in that you need to reclear security which you don't do at CDG when arriving ex-Schengen.
True.
From NCE, the marginal gain of an earlier departure at 9am would be unlikely to make this a big draw compared to the 10am nonstop,
Yep, NCE is a special case because it does have a direct flight to JFK.
