Going to Maldives next April with wife and 7-yr old son and looking for recommendations on resorts that meet our criteria below:
1. Luxury beach villas (private pool would be preferred but not a must), we would like to be able to see the beach/lagoon from our villa terrace (unlike Naladhu, for example, where you seem to overlook a garden even form a beach villa)
2. Nice beach where chairs are sufficiently apart to afford privacy (Gili Lankanfushi is so well regarded but their beach chairs look as crowded as any European city beach)
3. Ability to snorkel on-site/house reef
The deluxe beach villas at Taj Exotica satisfy our first 2 criteria but there is no snorkeling on site there. Would appreciate suggestions for places that actually do meet all 3 things we like
There is snorkeling at Taj Exotica, but from the overwater villas on the sea-side of the resort, rather than the beach villas, which face the vast lagoon there. The 2-bedroom Rehendi Suite is ideal, as it has its own overwater private pool, huge deck and steps down into the sea.
