I suspect the main issue will be leaving enough time for your bag to get from T1 to T2 and pass the US customs scanners before you physically clear US immigration pre-clearance.
When you use US immigration pre-clearance, the office will show you a scan of your checked luggage to confirm that they luggage is yours.
When you check-in in T2, the AA check-in agent immediately sends your bags on to the US customs scanners.
Mind you, AA make such a big song and dance about checking each customers details before you get to the check-in desk. Surely being able to by-pass Dublin check-in desks means that you also by-pass AA security checks which the airline is required to do.
