Title mostly says it all. Is it a semi instantaneous process?

I'm overseas at the moment with a medical emergency back home and the quickest, and cheapest, way to get back is using my AP points (I'm SE so availability is not an issue).

The thing is the flight I'm looking to catch is in about 14 hours. Should I expect any delays \ issues if I book the tickets through the website? Really don't mind the 35$ booking fee if that's what it takes, I just need to be on that flight and cannot afford delays.

This is an AC itinerary all the way and when I checked 2 hours ago there was still plenty of availability.
