I found that real travel agents can put a fare on hold for longer than Fairlock
For several overseas trips, I've used online actual travel agents – not Expedia or orbits types, but travel agents who specialize in the destination I'm traveling too. They've been able to put fares on hold for me for up to two weeks. So I don't think you need someone who uses farelock.
