There were no Uber cars available at 1AM this morning so we hoofed it down to the taxi rank.

Once in the car the driver got annoyed I asked for the meter saying something to the effect of, in Thai, 'why do you ask so quickly'. He then got annoyed we didn't want to take the tollway.

At the gate to exit the taxi area I opened the door, exited the car and we went back to the taxi line*. He was visibly annoyed at this action.

He missed out on the fare and likely needs to pay AoT the 50baht taxi surcharge out of his pocket. TFB.

*The main reason I refrain from placing bags in the trunk whenever possible.
