I was in 12K yesterday and did not notice a missing window (I had 3). It may just be that the one by your head is a little further back than you optimal, but it's not missing.

The mini cabin may be nice if you're 5 people travelling together. However, do realize that row 14 is only separated from Economy by a curtain and a bulkhead wall. Babies/children may be more audible.
