First time poster, long time lurker and hoping you can help. My girlfriend and I are moving across the country (NYC > LA) and we're stopping in Houston first for the holiday to visit our families. We're shipping our stuff to LA and using miles to fly down to Houston from NYC. Our second leg of the move, Houston > LA, we're renting a car because we don't own one and will need one for a week while in LA to purchase one. I've done some research and one-way rentals look like they'll cost anywhere from $650 - $850 for a compact car with liability insurance. Hoping you all can help beat that! Thanks in advance!
