Ren Renovation

Gotta agree with recent posters. This property has been vastly improved since my last stay several years ago. Everything from the lobby, to the executive lounge to the rooms has been refurbished. The hotel is no longer the dark, dingy hotel that it once was. To be able to have an early check-in at 7 a.m. was totally unexpected. No need to pay for the hotel hopper bus. Simply use the public bus from gthe central bus terminal. It's free. I don't know a better value in the world. As a platinum member I was given the usual arrival gift of beverage and snack or 500 points and also a voucher for a welcoming cocktail in the restaurant or the bar. The staff is exceptional -- pleasant, polite, and extremely welcoming. The executive lounge is certainly adequate and the evening bread selection is spectacular. Here's tonight's menu:

Baby mozzarella and tomato pesto
Chicken waldorf salad, walnuts
Chicken and chorizo skewers, tomato salsa
Thai fish cake, sweet chili sauce
Kells Edge Chardonnay or Castlebello Catarrat
Kells edge Cabernet or Castelbello Merlot
Becks, Budweiser or Sol beer
Asssorted chesse, crackers, breads ands munchies
Dessert cakes

Breakfast is totally continental -- no hot food at all. But platinum has the option of the restaurant buffet (not sure about gold). All in all, for a 68 pound weekend, rate, this hotel is an excellent choice. Only thing I miss is seeing the Concorde taking off from the runway room views.
