I've heard that before at LAS. It seems they're quicker to close off PreCheck lanes at A/B/C than D or E. Not sure why that is. If they'd open the connector between D and C, it'd make life so much easier, plus it would get you out of that dump of a terminal WN uses.

I did two trips during the 10 days around Thanksgiving: all five airports I hit (PHX x 2, SMF, SEA and PDX had functioning PreCheck ^ with relatively tame lines (except PHX T2 on Monday--people were clueless).

I noticed that the other day in Seattle. I love dogs, but walking through SEA felt like I was walking through a kennel.

It makes sense they do the background check. Just because you travel frequently, doesn't mean you haven't been convicted or arrested for trying to steal an airliner or something.

Besides, they have to do something. I can't imagine what people would say if they found out TSA was giving away PreCheck to people that fly a lot without vetting them. Especially if someone had a scary sounding name.
