I was thinking of trying to use points as the CAD- > EUR exchange sucks right now, so 40k points might be better then paying 250-300 EURs for the single night. That's going to be like 450 CAD for a single night...

Is the 'ambassador rate' normally any good?

It will be our honeymoon, so perhaps the ambassador status (for 32k points) and then pay for the room night might be worth the upgrade 'wow probability'.
