I am planning on taking a trip with the wife in March of next year.

Hoping to stay at the IH Hotel Dieu in Marseille, for a Friday-Sunday stay.

I will hit Spire Elite by end of this year, and am considering the Ambassador membership.

1. When using the Ambassador weekend certificate night, am I able to combine a reward night (for the first night) followed by the weekend certificate for the second or third night? Or is it a 'cash rate' only as in, I have to pay money for the first night and then get to use the certificate?

2. If I have 120k points, is it worth it for me to just get 3 reward nights at hotel dieu, and not get ambassador status, or should I buy ambassador status (cash or points)? This may tie into the first question.

3. What advantages does Spire Elite give you at an IHC property? Nothing?

I don't plan on staying at that many IHC properties next year, although you never know.
