Edit: Maybe they have two Hhonors accounts for you and trying to figure out which is the "real" one. Something happened at Marriott for me where they started sending me emails for a second Marriott account.
I had the same issue at Marriott when they purchased and activated Canadian Delta hotels as I had previously been a Delta elite and they activated a new Marriott account for me before checking if I was already a Marriott member. A quick call to Marriott and they closed the Delta account.
