This is more of a travel suggestion but if you don't already have a credit card you may wish to talk to your aunt and uncle about having a card issues off of their account as an authorized user. The card would have your name on it but wouldn't be based on your credit score which most 17 year olds don't really have. It's a good idea to have anyways for emergencies and can help show access to funds. Just be sure the card doesn't have a foreign transaction fee if you do end up using it abroad.
