Lounge access and luggage allowance I can understand, since those benefits are implemented at the time you fly. Seat selection is a bit different, surely, since it is EXERCISED in advance (at which time you might well have a different status).
I usually have little sympathy for those who drop down the status ladder but I think it's unfair to cancel seat selections.
I know someone who made a booking while a Gold however during the months before departure they dropped to Silver. Their BP reflected their old status and they were able to enjoy all the Gold benefits including the F lounge. That 'glitch' may have been fixed.
