Lounge access and luggage allowance I can understand, since those benefits are implemented at the time you fly. Seat selection is a bit different, surely, since it is EXERCISED in advance (at which time you might well have a different status).

For the avoidance of doubt, can anyone confirm (from experience, not speculation) if similar action is taken on downgrading from Silver to Bronze - i.e. any 'standard' seat reservations will be removed? And if so, do pax get any warning (e.g. via an email) when this is done, so they at least get a prompt to consider paid seating (if they so choose)?
