I disagree. TPA-LAX is 6 hours on a garbage A319. I would gladly book a multi city, fly to MIA and set up camp in the Centurion for 4 hours then get on the 77W over that. Heck if it came down to it I'd just drive straight to MIA.
FWIW, attempting to book MCO-MIA-LAX without doing multi-city with a less than 4 hour connection books the MIA-LAX segment into J for some odd reason charging $2038. Booking it as a multi-city drops the price to $1132.
I would suggest booking two one ways with the FL segment in Y to save a little more, but again booking MIA-LAX in on the 5pm 77W forces you into J class for some odd reason. Using multi-city it's selling you I. It looks like the multi-city option is giving you the best deal.
