I often head out without any accomodations in place, setting them up as I go along. As such, just about the only way to get hold of me is by e-mail, and family and close friends know I try to get on line at least every other day while I'm traveling.

If I have the time (and the internet cafe I end up isn't in the $20 an hour range), always take a look at FT, and will even post trip reports while on the road (and often cc: to e-mail).
