I've stayed here, with a rental car it's a pretty good location for Hollywood, Glendale/Burbank, and Pasadena. Alternatively, you can walk to the nearby Metro red line station and travel that way. I've typically found some good rates using AAA or other discount programs so 30k points per night might not be a "great" exchange of value.
