Call UA back and ask again why the ticket was cancelled. Don't reference the original call. If this was cancelled for a security issue, e.g. suspicions about whether you are a ticket broker, that is different than an error.
I have it in writing from UA that Copa cancelled for a no show
"Question, was this the return on a round trip? If so, did anything weird happen on the outbound?"

Though in later emails, UA uses the term " Copa did not honor the ticket you arranged"
