True, the 'legacy' fleets are way more expensive, but people in Mixed Fleet and Gatwick new contracts already have contracts that are borderline ridiculous, both in terms of pay, bonuses (£300 gross last year) and time (doing a 10+h flight with minimum rest, or a 4-hr Band 4 flight and a long haul immediately afterwards.
This forum concentrates, and rightly so, on service but sometimes we also ought to remember those working for the airline. I'd rather pay a little bit more or see a little bit less profit for the sake of slightly better T&C's for those on the frontline. Nothing à la Air France, but something more sensible than what's happening today.
Indeed, a sensible summary.
