It is tight. I was on a redone A320 about two weeks ago. I don't know what the F pitch is on paper, but it felt like C+ (what's that, 35"?).
My knees were less than an inch from the seat back (6'6" here) and when my neighbor in front reclined, I could barely work on my laptop.
That said I've resigned to the new F reality. What worries me a lot more is the new "W". I ended up in a C- seat a few weeks back due to a standby clearing, the first time in I don't know how long, but was shocked at how small pitch has become. I could not physically fit my knees (straight) between my seatback and the seat in front of me.
