I have got no real problem with BA pilots being paid a bit more... I quite like the reassurance that the man or woman in charge at the pointy end is highly professional and competent and well paid.
I would like to understand your argument better.
1, Are you referring EasyJet or Ryanair pilots as 'monkeys' because they are paid 'peanuts'?
2, Did you mean 'if a company pays pilots less money compare to BA, the pilots from that company must be incompetent and less professional'?
3, Did you really mean 'higher pay = higher skill'?
Well, at least that is the impression I got from your opinion. I could have a bad understanding from your original point of view. But I am confused at your argument that higher pay leads to higher professionalism and more competent.
Of course, everyone should be paid according to their skill sets and job market going rate, and their contribution to the company. But I see no correlation between higher pay and higher professionalism. I believe Pilots from easyJet, Ryan Air and Virgin Atlantic are as professional and competent as those counterparts in BA.
