If so, anyone have an idea what the full breakfast buffet cost is per person?

We have a corner suite, is the best tower the South tower if we're looking for ocean views? THANKS!!!
We are currently staying at the Diplomat. We received 3 $15 vouchers (our 12 year old daughter is with us) per day. We were also here for 3 days a week ago (our stays are book ending a cruise). The breakfast buffet is $29 per person plus tax and 18% automatic gratuity. We have instead ordered off the menu. An omelet with toast and potatoes is $16, the "Diplomat Breakfast" (eggs, toast, meat, potatoes) is $17 (plus tax & gratuity). Service in the restaurant is good, food is so-so. The coupons MUST be used before 11:30am, they are not accepted after that time in the restaurant or the lobby shop.

The lobby shop has a wide selection of items-- much broader that I usually see with chips, cheeses, snack foods, sandwiches, desserts, yogurts, etc. Breakfast items are available before 11:30 am.

North/South tower have the same views. The best views are not from the suites, but from the center rooms- though none of the oceanfront views are at all bad, they all face directly toward Atlantic and view the pool and the beach beyond. Last week we were in an oceanfront room, perfect center, 30th floor. This week we are in a north tower oceanfront suite. There is a construction project ongoing in the pool area, but it isn't as noisy as I feared. It is on the north tower side, so request your suite to be south tower. Although diamond, we booked what we wanted with points and did not receive any upgrade.

The rooms are fine, well designed, a tiny bit worn. The service is the hotel is truly erratic, careening from wonderful to truly awful. There is no diamond or gold check in-- when we arrived this last Sunday the place was utter chaos. We dragged six suitcases in ourselves as there was NO ONE willing to take bags outside. The check in line was 40 feet deep into lobby with only 2 clerks working the desk (there are 8 or 9 stations, but no one staffing them). It was a single line feeding the clerks, there was a HHonors sign, but no one working that station at the desk.

When checking out last week, we requested early check in this week. Followed that up with an email and a phone call early in the am of our arrival day. When I asked at the concierge desk if they had a diamond check in, the concierge tried to check me in, but our room wasn't ready and no record of the early check in request. 3 hours later, the room still wasn't ready. The front desk said the previous guest had not yet checked out at 2pm. That desk clerk was unable to ascertain if/when the guest would be leaving or if another like room was available. The clerk was unable to determine when housekeeping might clean the room, if it was actually empty. Eventually, my husband talked to a concierge who was able to juggle the rooms and put us in a 16th floor suite at 3:30pm. She then sent up a bottle of wine as well. I have not stayed in another hotel in which the concierge had a better handle on how to check people in than the front desk clerks.

We requested late check out for tomorrow but have been coolly informed that no "complimentary" late check out is available. This does make me wonder how the previous guests in my room hadn't checked out at 2pm yesterday....
