Not sure how much safer you'd be in a bus on the highways than in your own car, as there is no train option.
And the only real issue would be if you have to travel during or right after a snowstorm. Otherwise, the highways are cleared up pretty quickly.

Of course if you have zero experience driving in snow, maybe I'd consider the bus, but only as a backup if there actually is snow on the road. If it's a really bad storm, then it probably won't matter, the meeting should just be cancelled...
