Thought I would piggy back on this discussion. Similarly looking at IHG properties for a first trip to London. Want to keep nightly points to 35,000 or less, so am mostly looking at Holiday Inns or Holiday Inn Expresses. Any thoughts on best locations for being close to the sights? Primarily considering HIE Southwark or HIE Victoria, but open to others such as Holiday Inn Mayfair. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hotel Indigo at Earls Court is best value at 30k especially if they are offering premium rooms as well.
I have to agree with Raffles going with an HIX would be my last choice if Mayfair, Oxford Circus, Bloomsbury or even Regents Park at a push were available.
If you are looking for one with breakfast included for 35k the Staybridge at Vauxhall is a very good option only a few minutes from Victoria on the tube and the rooms are far superior to an HIX plus there is the evening reception midweek with beer and nibbles.
