Did an EMV transaction at a smaller merchant in Ohio (did not recognize the terminal type). What was interesting is the receipt not only identified the card type but the issuing bank (i.e. "Capital One Visa"). Is this something the chip identifies or is it obtained from the communication with the processor?
P.S. The terminal at this location definitely slowed down the checkout. There was one clerk entering items in the POS and another running the cards. The POS was 1-2 transactions ahead of the credit card terminal due to the speed of reading the chip cards.
