I encountered a similar situation at the Hilton near Cabo San Lucas. They had been closed due to damage from a hurricane a few months earlier and were reopening on July 1. There was no mention of construction that would be going on, etc. When we arrived on July 2 there was still significant construction, noise, closed restaurants, etc. Something that should have been posted on their website when I booked, and definitely been told about prior to arrival. I received significant compensation for this. Your situation is even more egregious. Go directly to Hilton if don't get some compensation from the hotel. As someone noted above, your status with Hilton will likely have some influence on the resolution.
