This here is the MARRIOTT forum - there is no bad news here for Marriott folks. We get a bunch of nice properties where we can now earn and use points, and unlikely that MR benefits will be diminished as SPG Plats actually have better perks.

It's all a big win for Marriott and its elites.
I am Platinum in both programs. Am I allowed to "whine" here?

Seriously, the way I see it, the louder the SPG members make their opinions known, the less we (both sides) are going to get screwed when the programs merge.

SPG seems to be a lot more innovative than MR and some benefits like Make a Green Choice, 4 PM checkout, My 24 and 100% bonus are very valuable. SPG also has a much better FT support than MR, which essentially disappeared with the weekend BOGO. Or course SPG members are nervous and want their voice heard.

Let's face it, there will be less competition going forward so we will all lose somewhat.
