It is cheaper, more comfortable, made in the US and better quality, has a larger variety of widths(A,B,C,D,E,EE,EEE,EEEE, and costs less in the $65.00's range! Price makes them almost disposable...

I started wearing Rockports, when they first came out and were better quality. Then they deteriorated size wise from being made in a number of different countries on different lasts.
