So my Geico auto insurance policy is going to cover all liability within the US, but not CDW.
Please note that your policy coverages extend to a rental vehicle for 30 days, provided that the vehicle is a private passenger auto and is used for personal use in the United States, its territories, or Canada. The vehicle must also be rented in your name and/or your spouse's name. The coverages will extend at the same limits and deductibles that you carry on your current policy.
Please be advised that the rental coverage would extend to regular private passenger vehicles.
The liability on your policy will extend to a rental or moving vehicle for third-party damages. We are unable to extend physical damage coverage, such as Comprehensive and Collision, to the vehicle itself because it is not classified as a private-passenger vehicle. You may want to check with the rental company regarding physical damage coverage for the vehicle.
So, if I rent a vehicle within the US with a Citi card (secondary coverage), and don't buy the rental company's CDW, does it effectively make Citi's coverage primary, or will I be driving around with no coverage at all?
