I went to Shangri La many years ago, was unimpressed, and never went back.
In hindsight, I did forget about Intercontinental Strings buffet. Courtyard Marriott Tokyo Station also warrants mention.
I was at the Four Seasons a couple of weeks ago, and they do have a breakfast buffet albeit a very limited selection. Good quality, plus a la carte options, but no where as extensive as the Mandarin. Actually, one of the few things I really enjoyed at the Mandarin was the great quality and selection at the breakfast buffet. Too bad, because it's not enough to make me ever want to return. Service trumps all, and when it's not there, all else suffers.
