I've never had a problem with the VIA site, and since my bookings are generally made a week before travel, I have the ticket sent to me. It generally arrives within two days of the booking, posted from their Toronto office. I assume they would do the same in Ottawa and Montreal and you'd get the ticket within two days by post.
