I am still a newbie to this forum but live in London.

I think it really depends on how comfortable you are in travelling on the tube. You may be able to get good hotels but may be a little while longer to get to the places you want to see. Search oyster fare finder on google and you will be able to see average cost. Also a simple google search will show you how long it will take you to get to different locations from your hotel. Most sightseeing places in London are located quite close together depending on how far you are willing to walk, or are couple stops on the tube from each other.

Science museum is located right near the Natural history Museum and they ahve a great little kids area where kids can experiment.

As trueblu mentioned, there are many Tesco express, sainsburys local etc dotted around London, many of which have Costa machines, so you can grab a hot coffee, any snack, waffles, croissants for your breakfast. Just search on google to see if there are any located near any of your preferred hotel choices.

Also, not entirely sure on this, but can't you use IC Park Lane for your cert? Am I right in saying this will be making the most of your cert moneywise?

Hope this helps.
