Thanks everyone for their response (esp Morges and CWS). It seems it wasn’t a one off.

I have a cheap Chinese power charger (lower wattage) which i will pack next time.

My only concern is that the last "copy" charger i owned exploded and now resides in the ceiling of the Stockholm Radisson Blu.

I have sent a note to the inflight entertainment manager via Linked In too.
