Sent my status match request email on 20 Nov at about 7.00pm PST. Then I followed up a couple of hours later by sending evidence of Accor Plat and HHonors Gold (before finding out the main focus of the campaign was SPG Plat, or at least it was after 12 noon). I received a response today at 9.00am PST saying someone would reply in 14 (business) days.

I do like Park Hyatt properties, but there are not many in Europe where I live unfortunately. I'll probably switch a few nights over to Hyatt while I'm in Asia if Diamond level is awarded, otherwise I'll stay with Hilton & Accor. I wouldn't worry too much about me taking away DSU opportunities from other members! But I do understand why some HGP members are annoyed that people who happened to be on Twitter at the right time are being given high status while other, perhaps more deserving members, miss out.

It would make a good case study on how to annoy current and potential hotel loyalty programme members, all in the space of a few days.
