If it makes you feel any better, I have Android app, and for my phone, (though I understand all are different) when trying to use the mobile boarding pass, it makes the barcode so large, that it must be perfectly positioned in order to scan properly. Very annoying, and the employees scanning the device always attempt to make it smaller with their fingers, but it doesn't work. At least you have passbook. (Or wallet)
