Other than not having QR on first flight and the lack of Australia/NZ flights showing up, are any of the segments below generally a problem with the online tool?
JNB-CPT-LHR-ZRH-NYC-ORD-EGE-ORD-MIA-ORD-PEK-CMB-KUL-REP-HKG-JNB
JNB-CPT-LHR-ZRH on BA (British)
ZRH-NYC-ORD-EGE-ORD-MIA-ORD-PEK on AA (American)

PEK-CMB-KUL on UL (Sri Lankan)
CMB-KUL-REP on MH (Malaysia)
REP-HKG on KA (Dragonair)
HKG-JNB on CX (Cathay)
I was able to identify the issue with trying to move forward with the online tool. The ORD-PEK (AA Flight 187) is the issue; the tool shows it as available in business for every day in Sep 2016 but the BA agent was unable to find ANY availability in Business. I confirmed this by looking on expert flyer and sure enough D0 for just about EVERY flight. I'm not sure why AA would not be releasing D inventory on otherwise empty flights at this point... but anyway, that is why I was getting an error using the booking tool.
Now, I've switched to ORD-DFW-PEK which will put me on AAs 787 product; I did have 1 segment to spare and since I have yet to fly 787, I'm pushing forward with that itinerary. Now I have been able to get all the way to getting my PNR on the online tool, and it SHOULD be as simple as phoning BA JNB tomorrow am to get this thing booked. I'll come back and report here but I've got my fingers crossed and I'll be calling as soon as BA JNB opens tomorrow am.
