All my life I was a last on the plane guy. My wife (a very seasoned traveler) liked boarding first.

My preference is to station myself somewhere comfortable where I can view gate (cafe, restaurant etc...) watch the herding from a distance, and when it dies down, leisurely walk up to the gate and onto the plane.

My wife prefers to station herself early by the gate and be first on (to get bin space etc...)

Our first flight after getting married was domestic in Australia - no problem.
Our second flight was SYD-LAX - this is where our differing boarding styles showed up and our first disagreement.

Now with a baby all our flights this year we have got there 10-15 mins before the time on the boarding pass to check in our stroller etc...
