Castel Claret, is in the country side and has an amazing calm and quality to it. With 2 good restaurants, and some tapas places in the local village some 7min drive away.

Cap Rocat an other type amazing hotel, with amazing location on the Rocks with its own 'cliff' beach.... so if it is just to stay at the resort fantastic, if to more around the area it is in the wrong end of Arenal which is not a place to hang out which is far more down market.

The Belmond is stuck away up in Deia, and very quiet, but also lovely hotel, but personally would focus on the 2 above.

As for Palma hotels, there are quite many Boutique hotels, amongst Posada Terra Santa, The Calatrava ..... worth visiting
