Which is fine when it comes to bank services, but one would imagine that the likes of MBNA and Amex would want to ply their trade in Ireland. Although Amex does notionally offer a card to Irish citizens, I have never seen it advertised, no sign-up bonuses etc. www.americanexpress.com/ie doesn't exist as a webiste (unlike most other european derivatives) and merely brings you to the generic icc euro/dollar cards.
