Now witnessed the new process twice.
It's a charade!

On the first LHR-DME flight they announced "F, CW and GCH" but there was no one who was checking eligibility BEFORE the fast-track lane. So lots of chancers and simply confused people were standing inside the fast-track lane while eligible people were trying to force their way forward. The whole process took much longer than the previous version.

Second LHR-DME was even worse. Completely absurd.
There was the announcement. Then there was a person who stepped forward and invited people to use all the lanes! Then the crowd just charged straight ahead and the guy checked the eligibility of 1 out of 5 people who went past him. The gate agents didn't send anyone back!

A silver card holder approached the guy and asked if he could join the queue. The guy said: "No, wait for another announcement". The SCH was standing looking appalled while everyone was boarding and then having realized something was going wrong joined the queue and was let through.

Basically, if you are an honest silver or bronze card holder you will be the last one to get on board the aircraft.

What BA needs to do is to change the signage, pre-record the announcement in different languages and use the bloody monitors which, by the way, were showing "Boarding by row number".

Or if they can't get it right, simply abandon the whole procedure altogether - the former procedure was already difficult to police (for BA), so the new one is a total mess.
