Not really. Whatever cost that AC incurs gets passed on to the customers. Call it an indirect user fee. If the govt starts reimbursing AC for costs, then all taxpayers share the burden, whether they ever set foot on an airplane or not.
If AC is currently supporting this program financially, then presumably the cost is built into ticket prices. If the feds were to pay up, does anyone really believe AC would pass the savings on to us?
