EY CS demands 30$service fee for lap infant in Y, 60$ in C!!

Correct? Workaround?

They also say that since I have an AA ticket, they need to have a spare seat to book the infant into, and then move it to a lap infant. Meaning its probably impossible if the cabin is sold out.
