I never stayed at this hotel but I am familiar with the area. The parade path is in Pasadena and mainly on Colorado BLVD. People line up on the street the night before to claim their spot on the parade path. A perfect viewing spot would be around Old Town Pasadena. San Gabriel is also another world compared to Pasadena. If you like Vietnamese or Chinese food, you won't be disappointed.
