My wife loves NYC, so I was looking at the possibility of sending my daughter and her up for a few days this week before Thanksgiving.

And I was blown away at how low the prices are. The Marriott Fairfield Inn Time Square is only $100/night and there are other very "favorable" rates right now. Is this normal for this time of the year or is something happening/not happening this week?

I was planning on using points if they go, but for that rate, I think I'd just pay for the room.
