When did you do it? With the recent BA devaluations on spend/earn and YQ fees the companion ticket makes a lot less sense than it once did though it may still make sense for F.

Did it before the devaluation but as you said it was a first class ticket. But that depends on the future plans, avios points banked, if you travel "off season" etc.
even devaluation it would have made sense to me as it meant first instead of business
