Sounds like OP tripped some fraud red flags and it took a bit to verify things.
A lot of this was self-made. OP had the code, but didn't want to use it so it took longer.

Never issues with Citi
Chase though sucks
I guess a bank respects you when you use them as primary
I tried using Chase as primary for about 1.5 years and they still treated me like dirt
But with Citi, the more I used the card the more they respect(ed) me and the free travel doesn't hurt one bit
As someone said, it was a simple fraud alert that needed clearing , you are the one that made it complicated
Make sure they have your correct contact info and that it's correctly indicated to be a cell phone
Actually use your card and I guarantee they will return the favor
Loyalty is a two way street (this applies to both Citi and Chase)
